What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

The traditional 28 day residential program may not give individuals the time they need to truly adjust and feel stable in their new lifestyle. Addiction is a multifaceted disease that affects the addict physically, mentally, and spiritually. If you decide you need more transitional time to build a stronger base in your sobriety, we'll help you find the best sober living home and outpatient program to fit your needs.

The structure of outpatient treatment is similar to residential in terms of issues addressed. However, it typically only lasts around three hours per day. After you finish for the day you’re free to go home, work, or whatever else you may want to do with the rest of your day.

Outpatient treatment will build upon the tools learned in residential treatment. It’ll allow you the opportunity to process changes resulting from treatment and apply them to real-world situations as they come up in your day-to-day life. Dealing with challenges life will throw at you and any potential triggers you may have become much easier when you have the support of a clinician and your peers who are also experiencing similar challenges in early sobriety.
