What is Sober Living?

Sober living is an extremely popular option for those who decide to extend their treatment with outpatient therapy. Many of the sober living homes we work with are fully covered while you’re attending an outpatient program. These houses come fully furnished and give the newly recovering addict or alcoholic a built-in network of other sober individuals all moving toward the same goal of lifelong recovery.

The most common length of time for individuals to stay in sober living is anywhere from three months to one year. The length of time committed to a sober living environment is completely up to you. However, studies show that there’s a direct correlation between length of stay in treatment and ability to maintain long-term sobriety. Remember that it took longer than one month to become addicted so it also generally takes longer to undo the damage afterward.
